Satellite Source: Sentinel 1A
Mode: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV
Resolution: 5x20 meter
Image Date & Time: 04-09-2018 2319 UTC

Confidence: High
Issued Date: 04-11-2018

Region: Atlantic Ocean
Location: 25°15'14" N, 79°35'17" W
Coverage Area: 14.87 km^2

Remarks:
Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed
as oil. A segmented anomaly was observed approximately 50 nm southeast
of Miami, Florida and measured 25.7 nm in length NNW from the suspected
point source. The modeled ocean currents in the vicinity were moving towards
the North at a speed between 1.5 to 2 kts and satellite derived winds
acquired at the time of the image were 5 kts and from the South. A High
confidence was determined given that the anomaly widened with distance
and a large contrast to the background surroundings was present.

Uncertainties:
This anomaly may be associated with NRC Incident Report # 1208905 and may
be the result of a possible bilge dumping.
