Satellite Source: Landsat 8
Mode: Multispectral
Resolution: 30 meter
Image Date & Time: 04-13-2018 1625 UTC

Confidence: High
Issued Date: 04-13-2018

Region: Gulf of Mexico
Location: 28°56'16" N, 88°58'14" W
Coverage Area: 3.93 km^2

Remarks:
A possible oil slick was observed in satellite imagery. The slick appeared
to originate from the location of Destroyed Taylor platform, a source
of repeat oil leaks. The anomaly extends approximately 1.9 nm northwest
from the platform. The slick is about 1.4 nm wide. And it exhibits a strong
silvery appearance and contrast against the ocean background.

Uncertainties:
Since the anomaly seems to originate from a repeat oil leak source and
was detected in high resolution imagery, there is no uncertainty.
