Satellite Source: Sentinel 2A
Mode: Multispectral
Resolution: 10 meter
Image Date & Time: 06-22-2018 1629 UTC

Confidence: High
Issue Date: 06-23-2018

Region: Gulf of Mexico
Location: 28°56'16" N, 88°58'14" W
Coverage Area: 10.93 km^2

Remarks:
A possible oil slick was observed in satellite imagery. The slick appeared
to originate from the location of Destroyed Taylor platform, a source
of repeat oil leaks. The anomaly extends approximately 20 nm east from
the platform and is measured 0.34 nm wide. The anomaly exhibits a silvery
appearance in high resolution imagery and the direction aligns well with
ocean current data near the time of image.

Uncertainties:
There is no uncertainty since the anomaly seems to be originating from
a repeat leak source.
