This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was located between San Leon and Smith Point in Galveston Bay in Texas, and measured approximately 1.45 nmi in length and up to 0.46 nmi in width, oriented SE-NW and appearing to emanate from an oil facility. The anomaly was dark against its background with distinct edges, and was well removed from any other similar anomalies in the image. Winds at the time of the image were around 10 kts from the ESE, which aligned well with the anomaly. UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly did not widen with distance from the suspected source. No known reports of oil slicks were found for the area.
