REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The possible oil was located just outside Quarantine Bay, in the Main Pass area of Louisiana and may emanate from a pipeline running along the western edge of the scene. The possible oil extends for 12.5 nm and was .75 nm across its widest point. A silver sheen was observed which is characteristic of thicker oil. This report may be related to NRC #s 1337391 and 1337485. Winds at the time were SW 6 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: The extent of possible oil was estimated, particularly towards the northeast where it became obscured by clouds and false positives. There were also several oil facilities in the area towards the southwest which could be possible sources.
