REPORT DATE: 06-28-2022 REPORT TIME: 0030 UTC REGION: ATLANTIC SUB REGION: SOUTHEAST U.S. AREA/BLOCK: N/A IMAGE DATE: 06-27-2022 IMAGE TIME: 2312 UTC DATA SOURCE: RADARSAT2 MODE: ScanSAR Narrow VV RESOLUTION: 25 meter LOCATION: 25°23'56" N/79°40'11" W AREA: 5.96 square kilometers CONFIDENCE: Medium REMARKS: Possible, unconfirmed oil was observed in satellite imagery. The area of possible oil was segmented but altogether approximately 25.5nm in length and 0.2nm wide. The possible oil was connected to a vessel just outside of the United States EEZ boundary, SE of Miami. The area of possible oil was likely a result of a bilge dumping. Although there was only very slight widening with distance, there was good contrast and the edges were well defined, which led to a Medium confidence. Local winds at the time were ESE and approximately 10kts. UNCERTAINTIES: The area of possible oil did not widen appreciably with distance.
