On 14 April 2009, NOAA will release the NOAA-19 data to the current NOAA-18 data users for system check out. We believe the data is of operational quality and will begin treating it as such. However, we do not wish to cause problems for any of our users by suddenly flooding your system with NOAA-19 data before you are ready to receive it. For those users who get their data from the DDS, please contact Cathy Nichols and request the data. We are asking CLASS to allow access to the NOAA-19 data at the same access level as for NOAA-18.
Please note that we see an attitude type error in the NOAA-19 AVHRR data that is currently under investigation and a correction will be made once this investigation is complete. There are still tests being conducted
On 9 April, NOAA-19 information was updated in the KLM Users' Guide at http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/pod-guide/ncdc/docs/intro.htm. This included some minor calibration parameter changes.
