Details/Specifics of Change:
On February 5(day 36) around 0938 UTC, the longwave channel noise began to increase. Currently, the noise level for channels 1 through 12 are 2 to 3 times greater than the spec. This is a repeat of the original problem seen at the launch of NOAA-18. This problem recently occurred beginning on day 26 and lasting through 30 before returning to a useful level. Monitoring will continue and users will be notified of any changes.
