Details/Specifics of Change
On June 2, 2009 around 1540Z, we inadvertently implemented NOAA-19 AVHRR test attitude corrections in operations. The corrections applied are roll=0 deg, pitch=-0.06 deg, and yaw=0.1 deg beginning with the passes listed below. The clock drift correction has not been implemented and so the user will still see an along track error in the level 1b data. However, the attitude correction should show improvement in the earth locations. A decision will be made whether or not to remove these corrections or let them remain. We are comparing the clock correction along with the attitude corrections in our parallel test system and will look at the results tomorrow, 4 June 2009. We will make a decision at that time on whether to take out the corrections or go ahead with both. We hope this does not create a problem for any of our users. Thank you for your patience.
