Details/Specifics of Change:
This is a status update involving the NOAA-17 MIRP rephase function.

The NOAA-17 MIRP rephase function was disabled on 9 March 9 2010 and it is still disabled. Since 3 May 2010, the behavior of NOAA-17 AVHRR scan motor has improved by itself, though it is not as good as hoped. Currently, the “bar code” noise effect is not present in the data. Users should get benefit from the improved data quality. Keep in mind, however, that it is not clear how long this improvement will last.
