Date Time Component Description
11/13/201416:31:40FLEX MEMORYModify Flex 1, Segment 0, Word 14, Position Mode wavelength, to GPOS -1263 (378nm)
03/21/201316:54:30CHOPPER MOTORThis will call Macro 0010 twenty times. The SBUV motors will be power toggled for a duration of approximately 200 seconds. This CP will also deactivate both macros, then reactivate Macro 004B which monitors for 40 C.
01/24/201317:03:13 Turned off the calibration lamp heater
01/16/201316:59:10CHOPPER MOTORThis activates the power toggle, Macro 10, and will leave the SBUV powered, which is the upper temp macro was previously enabled for protection
01/16/201316:57:56CHOPPER MOTORSwitched from previous macro toggling to 4B/4C toggling; 40C turn off with 2 orbit delay before toggle on sequence
01/03/201314:13:46CHOPPER MOTORMacro changed from 40C and 28C to 40C and 35C in hopes that a power toggle at a higher temperature will revive the chopper motor.
12/21/201216:43:47 Setting the wavelength to 252nm short wavelength allows for any subtle movement from the chopper motor to be more easily identified
12/21/201216:43:32GRATING DRIVECommand will set the grating drive to position mode
12/21/201216:39:17 This command will open the lamp door
12/21/201216:37:45 This will command will stow the diffuser
12/20/201218:00:00 Removed all routine SBUV stored commands load activites
12/12/201208:07:22Chopper MotorChopper Motor stalled and 3 macros are power cycling the motor.

11/10/200821:36:00 Program position mode to 252 nm
11/10/200821:36:00 Select grating to position mode
11/09/200806:52:16CHOPPER MOTORChopper Motor Stalled. SBUV Toggling Macro switched from 21C to 24C set point.
11/09/200802:35:00CHOPPER MOTORAt approximately 2008/314-02:35 UTC the Chopper Motor on the NOAA-18 SBUV stalled. The signature was identical to previous occurrences of the motor stall that were observed early this summer.

05/27/200817:03:19ELECTRONICSTurn on SBUV instrument power: High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) disabled and turned off.
05/27/200817:03:18GRATING DRIVETurn on SBUV instrument power: Purpose is to reset grating drive logic so drive will park when motor power is turned on
05/23/200816:17:41CHOPPER MOTORTelemetry and Science Data indicated the Chopper Motor is halted. Power was still being disipated through the motor and causing it to heat excessively. The motor power was disabled in an attempt to protect the instrument while recovery options are being weighed. Science Data is currently unusable.
05/22/200815:55:00CHOPPER MOTOROn 2008/143 at approximately 15:55 UTC, there was an increase in motor current (VCMTRI) and subsequent temperature (NSBUCMTR) rise on the N18 SBUV Chopper Motor. Coupled to the motor current rise were changes in the Chopper Phase Error (VCPHZERR). The yellow and red high limits to the motor current and motor temperatures began flagging and were spotted on the first contact, at 17:50 UTC, following the increase. Around 20:30 UTC of the same day, the motor current reached a steady state at 0.2 A (ten times nominal levels) and the motor temperature settled near 50 C. Other components in the instrument began showing slow upward trends in telemetry.
