NOAA Office of Satellite and Product Operations

Please Note:

GOES-15 supplemental operations ended on March 2, 2020. The distribution of GOES-15 satellite products has been discontinued.

To view imagery from the operational GOES East (GOES-16) and GOES West (GOES-17) satellites, users may visit https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/goes/.

The NOGAPS animation is split into two map types: Daily and Realtime.

Daily and Realtime display both brightness temperatures (BTs) and geophysical parameters (GPs), seen within the Products table. Daily displays the BTs and GPs images for the past 7 days, while Realtime produces hourly images processed for the past several days.

Click on one of the two Play buttons to start the animation loop and again to stop the loop. One Play button displays ascending orbits and northern hemisphere images from cylindrical and polar stereographic projections respectively. The second Play button displays descending orbits and southern hemisphere images from cylindrical and polar stereographic projections respectively. To change the animation speeed, adjust the slider. At any time, click the previous or next buttons to navigate the currently loaded images manually.
