GOES Soundings Time TrendsThe GOES Soundings Time Trends are 3 (three) hour time differences for LI (Lifted Index), CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy), CINH (Convective Inhibition), and TPW (Total Precipitable Water). The trending is current hour values minus values from three hours prior. Therefore, positive values indicate an increase over time whereas negative values indicate a decrease over time. Due to processing limitations, the time trend data is split up into only 6 regions across the Continental U.S. and surrounding areas. Latest U.S. Regional GOES Stability, Moisture and Temperature

Key:
LI is Lifted Index (Degrees Celsius)
CAPE is Convective Available Potential Energy (Joules/Kg) [Numerical values of CAPE are divided by 100 before plotting]
CINH is Convective Inhibition (Joules/Kg)
TPW is Total Precipitable Water (Millimeters)
