Details/Specifics of Change:

On September 10, 2018 at approximately 1400 UTC, the GOES-16 (GOES-EAST) Magnetometer Heater Set-Point will be reduced from 35C to 20C for the Outboard Magnetometer to improve performance compared to the GOES-13 Magnetometer.


On September 17, 2018 at approximately 1400 UTC, the GOES-16 (GOES-EAST) Magnetometer Heater Set-Point will be reduced from 35C to 20C for the Inboard Magnetometer to improve performance compared to the GOES-13 Magnetometer.


The Magnetometer Heater Set-Point updates will be cancelled in the event of CWD and rescheduled daily at the same time until out of CWD. The Inboard Heater Set-Point update will occur not less than 7 days after the Outboard Heater Set-Point update. If NWS Regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301) 683-1500 at least 6 hours prior to the schedule update.
