Details and Specifics of Change:

Install NDE release 2.0.13

The installation is planned to be done during back orbits. NDE will not be ingesting, processing or distributing data during installation. No data loss expected, but there will be a possible backlog of processing when installation is complete.

The version of the Advanced Clear-Sky Processor for Oceans (ACSPO) for VIIRS instruments will be promoted from version 2.41 to version 2.60. ACSPO produces Sea Surface Temperature, clear-sky mask, radiances, etc.

Probably the most significant change is adding the capability to process the new VIIRS data from NOAA-20 (a.k.a. JPSS-1). For ACSPO product subscribers, that means that NOAA-20 data will now be available, doubling the data volume. ACSPO BUFR products for NOAA-20 will not be available until the next NDE release (2.0.14). Another significant change is resampling of the bowtie distortion for the VIIRS native swath pattern. This fills in the onboard deletion pixels in the L1 VIIRS pattern with resampled data. All data quality flags are preserved through the resampling process.

Other changes include the addition of a couple mostly internal global metadata parameters, some bug fixes, and, of course, the version number will change to v2.60 in all files that contain the ACSPO version number. The satellite identifier for NOAA-20 will be N20, or n20 depending on the naming convention, and in tailored products, the satellite identifier will be j01. Contact for questions or issues.
