Date/Time Issued:February 15, 2018 1835Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted: SARSAT alert data

Date/Time of Initial Impact: February 14, 2018 0558Z

Date/Time of Expected End:February 15, 20182035Z

Length of Outage: 15 hours, 17 minutes

Details/Specifics of Change:It was determined that the S11 SARP failed around 0558 UTC on 14 February. This was most likely due to acorrupted SRAM that is correctable by an instrument SW RESET.

USMCC notified the French MCC (FMCC) of the issue.

FMCC notified all MCCs that a SARP reset has been requested from EUMETSAT at 1410 UTC.

USMCC received Telemetry confirmation at 1751 that SARP had been reset at 1525 UTC.

USMCC recommended all MCCs to filter S11 SARP data at 1755 UTC.

At 0908 UTC 15 February FMCC notified all MCCs that new S11 TCAL will be distributed shortly.

At 0912 UTC 15 February FMCC sent new TCAL for S11.

The USMCC is removing filters as LUTs are reporting accurate solutions.

Six of the 9 US LEOLUT have reported accurate solutions after the new TCAL was installed.

Impact:Medium-Loss of Storage/forward capability. Satellite is limited to real-time/local distress detection and relay. Timeliness of global coverage detection and relay affected.
