Length of Outage: 1 hour for maneuver (2023 UTC - 2129 UTC); 27 hours and 15 minutes for recovery period (March 20, 2018 2130 UTC - March 22, 2018 0044 UTC).

Details/Specifics of Change: GOES-15 (GOES-West) will be performing a Yaw Flip Maneuver for one hour on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 2023 UTC through 2129 UTC. M-BThere is no back up date for this maneuver.M-B It will need to be conducted during a critical weather day. M-BA recovery period will follow immediately and last until March 22, 2018 at 0044 UTC.M-B During the recovery period, routine imager and sounder scans will be performed; however, the navigation may still be out of specifications until the end of the recovery period. No GOES-15 (GOES-West) RSO requests will be approved during the maneuver/maneuver recovery period.

If NWS Regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301) 683-1500 at least 6 hours prior to the maneuver time. There is no backup date for the Yaw Flip.

GOES-16 (GOES-East) will continue to run Mode 3, which has a 15 minute Full Disk cadence, in support of the GOES-15 outage. M-B

On March 21, 2018 0800-1100 UTC, the following images and soundings will be shortened or replaced due to navigation constraints during eclipse.
