Topic: Two New SST data sets now available on the PDA Date/Time Message Issued: May 25, 2018 0147Z Product(s)/Data Impact: Global 5km Blended SST Date/Time Initial Impact: May 23, 2018 1800Z Date/Time Expected End: Permanent Length of Outage: N/A Details/Specifics of Change: Two new Sea Surface Temperature (SST) data sets have been promoted to operations and are now available to users on the Product Distribution and Access (PDA) system: 1) Diurnally Corrected Blended Global 5KM SST PDA catalog name: Geo-Polar DABlended 5km SST GHRSST L4-NetCDF This product is an enhancement of the already available day-night global blended SST at 5 km grid spacing. It is a level 4 analyzed SST produced daily and is corrected to eliminate diurnal warming. 2) Geostationary Meteosat-8 L2P SST (over Indian Ocean) PDA catalog name: Geo_SST_L2P_MSG

This level 2 product is not new as it was previously produced in Group for High Resolution SST netCDF4 format. NESDIS is resuming production now that the satellite is over the Indian Ocean to fill a gap in geostationary global SST coverage.
