Details/Specifics of Change: During this test period, GLM lightning signals may be seen at or near the laser beacon sites near Greenbelt, MD (ground coordinates of 39d 01' 14" N 76d 49' 40" W; about 10 miles northeast of Washington, DC) and Monument Peak, CA (ground coordinates of 32d 53' 30" N 116d 25' 22" W; about 50 miles east of San Diego, CA).

During the test period, GLM signals may appear as short (5-10 minute) illuminations over 1 hour periods within three test windows: 01-04 UTC, 04-07 UTC, and 14-17 UTC. This will be repeated daily between September 11-14 and again between September 17-21 until the test results are satisfied. The test is weather-dependent at both sites.
