GOES-17 ABI will be brought offline to implement a flight software update. The ABI will be turned off at approximately 1800 UTC on Thursday 3 January and will be down approximately 2 hours. GOES-17 ABI may experience degraded performance upon return to service while image navigation performance converges.

GOES-17 is not operational. This activity will not be cancelled in the event of a critical weather day declaration.
