Details/Specifics of Change:

On March 5, 2019, the center point of the GOES-17 ABI default MESO-2 domain will change from 35.5 degrees North, 101.5 degrees West to 56 degrees North, 150 degrees West. This change has been coordinated by the NWS Satellite Meso Domain Request Core Team and NESDIS. Due to the NWS Alaska RegionM-bM-^@M-^Ys geographic position and limited observational tools, a 1-minute mesoscale domain sector (MDS) provides enhanced capabilities for forecasters. This benefit was determined to outweigh the benefits of the current MESO-2 domain location.

This default MESO-2 coordinates will change on March 5, 2019 at either 1500 UTC if the MDS is in default position, or as soon as the MDS returns to the default MESO-2 position if it is in use at 1500 UTC.
