The SNPP NUCAPS level-2 data products will continue to be unavailable until the CrIS Mid-Wave (MW) is restored .Efforts are still being made to restore the SNPP CrIS MW spectrum by switching the CrIS instrument to side-2 electronic and these data products will not be available to users for at least three months after the switch is made. The user community will be informed on the progress of switching to side-2 electronic once it is available.
National
Weather Service plans to distribute NOAA-20 NUCAPS soundings
data flow into AWIPS in late May 2019.
