Details/Specifics of Change:

A yaw flip maneuver will be performed on GOES-17 on March 27, 2019 from M-B2035-2159 UTC. During this period, all instruments will experience a data outage except telemetry data from MAG which will continue to be sent. After the maneuver, all instruments and products will resume nominal production and distribution.

All ABI channels will experience navigation and product quality degradation for a period of time due to the Kalman filter reset. ABI visible channels will become nominal after approximately 30 minutes after yaw flip and infrared channels will become nominal after approximately 30 minutes to 30 hours after yaw flip. There is no back up date for the yaw flip. It will be conducted during a critical weather day. M-B
