Details/Specifics of Change:

NESDIS expects the GOES-16 (GOES-East) and GOES-17 (GOES-West) Advanced Baseline Imagers (ABI) will permanently transition from Flex Mode (mode 3) operations to 10-minute Flex Mode (mode 6) operations during the week of April 1, 2019. Continuous Full Disk Mode (mode 4) will continue to be a secondary operational mode. 10-minute Flex Mode (mode 6) operations is a Full Disk every 10 minutes, CONUS every 5 minutes, and 2 meso domains every minute (or 1 domain every 30 seconds).


A specific day and time of transition will be communicated at a later date.
