Update #2: The PDA partial failover to the CBU site has completed successfully, the CBU site is generating products and fulfilling subscriptions. The NSOF site will continue to provide IDPS based products for ~2 hours as it continues to process residual data from earlier contacts. Both the CBU and NSOF sites are Operational at this time. The failback activity is scheduled for May 27, 2020 @ 1130Z. Products will continue to be generated for ~2 hours after the failback activity has completed.

Update #1: The Impact and Expected End times for the planned PDA partial failover have been updated to begin May 26, 2020 at 1125Z and end May 27, 2020 at ~1425Z for a duration of 27 hours. These times include an earlier start time than originally planned and additional time for the completion of NDE processing at CBU after IDPS has switched back to NSOF.

Topic:  Planned PDA Partial Failover to CBU

Date/Time Issued:  May 26, 2020 1218Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted:  Due to planned and impactful IDPS network maintenance, all S-NPP, NOAA-20 and GCOM-W1 Level 1B (sensor data records - SDRs) and other ‘critical’ (data records - xDRs) designated products will be distributed from PDA at the Consolidated Backup (CBU) facility.  Delivery of GOES-16/17, Metop, POES and other data will continue nominally from NSOF PDA and other ESPC distribution systems.

Date/Time of Initial Impact:   May 26, 2020 1130Z

Date/Time of Expected End: May 27, 2020 1130Z

Length of Event:  24 hours

Details/Specifics of Change:   PDA pull users should initiate duel-flow, to pull all available products from PDA OPS and PDA CBU, during this event.  This change should be transparent to push users.  Pulls from CBU should continue until 2 hours after the end time listed above, as it takes NDE time to finish all product creation after receipt of the orbit.

The PDA Support team will be monitoring the environment to quickly investigate and remediate anomalies that arise.
