Update #2:  The GOES-16 ABI was returned to an operational state.  Production and distribution of GOES-16 ABI products resumed on 27 July 2020 at 0300Z.  


Correction:  The time of the initial impact on GOES-16 ABI products was 2030Z not 2110Z as reported in the initial notification.  With this corrected time, the total time of impact on GOES-16 ABI products was 6 hours 30 minutes.


Update #1:  The status of the GOES-16 ABI anomaly has not changed.  Engineers are currently on site working through the ABI instrument specific anomaly.  Science products (SUVI, SEISS, EXIS, GLM and MAG) were not impacted by this anomaly.  As further information becomes available, updates will be disseminated.  The return of GOES-16 ABI data is currently TBD.
