Details/Specifics of Change:
A yaw flip maneuver will be performed on GOES-17 on September 8, 2020 from 2040-2140 UTC. During this period, all instruments will experience a data outage except telemetry data from MAG which will continue to be sent. After the maneuver, all instruments and products will resume nominal production and distribution.
All ABI channels will experience navigation and product quality degradation for a period of time up to 30 minutes due to the Kalman filter reset. There is no back up date for the yaw flip. It will be conducted during a critical weather day.
