Product(s) Involved/Affected:  All products from AMSU-A, ASCAT, ATOVS, GRAS, IASI, MHS, AVHRR in the Metop Global Data Service and Regional Data Service were temporarily degraded.  GOME-2 and SEM products were not available.

Details/Specifics of Change:       

A Metop-A Collision Avoidance In-Plane Maneuver was performed April 18, 2021, preheating beginning at 11:48 UTC with the maneuver ending at 13:30 UTC that same day.

 

This maneuver was to avoid collision with FENGYUN 1C DEB (object number 32193).

 

The SEM instrument was placed into Maneuver Mode at 11:25 UTC on April 18, 2021 and returned back to its Normal Operating Mode at 16:29 UTC that same day. 

 

The GOME instrument timeline ends and mirror parked before the burn at 12:12 UTC on April 18, 2021.  The GOME timeline was reactivated at 15:30 UTC that same day.

 

Data from the outage period will not be recovered nor distributed.
