Topic: Missing  PDA Data

Date/Time Issued: December 20, 2021 1534Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted: EUMETSAT Data

Date/Time of Initial Impact: December 19, 2021 0655Z

Date/Time of Expected End: TBD

Details/Specifics of Change: EUMETSAT suffered a failure resulting in the loss of data from both Meteosat-8 (Indian Ocean) and Meteosat-11 (Prime Merdian), starting at about 0600Z.

EUMETSAT began distributing Meteosat-9 in full disk mode at about 0830Z, to replace Meteosat-11. PDA is receiving that data; user distribution will be dependent on their subscriptions.

Internal OSPO processing of Metosat-9 data resumed at 1415Z. Products reliant on Met-11 were lost or degraded from 0600-1400.

Meteosat-8 remains out. All products reliant on it are lost or degraded.
