Correction #1: Subject title Change from Administrative to product outage/anomaly

Update #1:  December 21, 2022 the NOAA-19 SBUV was once again left in the “Giant Step” configuration due to another scheduling error in the Store Command Load, and had to be commanded manually back to scan mode. As a result, the instrument was not producing data from 18:14Z to 20:27Z.

Topic: NOAA-19 SBUV Data Outage.

Date/Time Issued: December 22, 2022 0315Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted: SBUV Products

Date/Time of Initial Impact: December 21, 2022 1814Z

Impacts on Users and Significance: SBUV products will be impacted.

Date/Time of Expected End:
December 21, 2022 2027Z

Length of Outage: ~2 hours

Details/Specifics of Change:The NOAA-19 SBUV was not producing data for ~2 hours from 18:14 UTC to ~20:27 UTC due to being left in the “Giant Step” configuration for an extended period of time. The Giant Step is normally executed once per day to reduce instrument error, however because the commands in the stored command load that return the instrument to its normal configuration were not executed properly, the SBUV was left in the “Giant Step” configuration for ~2 hours. The instrument was commanded back to its normal configuration at ~20:27 UTC.
