Update #10: CWD for Pacific Region ended early as of 16/2350Z.  No tsunami advisories are currently in effect.

Update #9: CWD updated to add Pacific Region due to a Tsunami Advisory for American Samoa starting at 2100Z  ending 17/0900Z due to continued pulsating volcanic eruptions in Tonga Region.

 Update #8: 
CWD has ended for Western Region at 09Z, as scheduled.   All tsunami advisories along the California coast have been dropped.  

Update #7:  CWD for Western Region has been extended until 16/09Z due to continued tsunami advisories along the California coast.

Update #6: CWD has ended for Alaska Region.  CWD for Western Region has been extended until 16/06Z due to a tsunami advisory along the California coast.  

Correction: Start time for Alaska and Western Regions is 1/15 1430Z end time is 1/16 0200Z.

Update #5: CWD updated to add Alaska and Western Regions due to a Tsunami Advisory that may have unknown impacts due to the previous underwater Volcanic Eruption  near Tonga from 1430Z to 0200Z.

Update #4: Critical Weather Day ended at 12Z  1/15 for OPC.   Critical Weather Day remains in effect until 00Z Tues Jan 18 for Eastern Region and expanded to include Southern Region due to a winter storm impacting the eastern half of the country this weekend.

Update #3: As of 0800Z, Critical Weather Day for the Pacific Region has been canceled.  The tsunami warning for American Samoa has been discontinued.

CORRECTION: The earthquake that created the tsunami was a magnitude 4.0 earthquake.  

Update #2
: CWD updated to add Pacific Region due to a Tsunami Warning for American Samoa starting from 0630Z to 1430Z due to a magnitude 7.6 earthquake.

Update #1: Critical Weather Day has been extended to 00Z Tuesday January 18 for Eastern Region and expanded to include Southern Region due to a winter storm impacting the eastern half of the country this weekend. CWD will still end at 12Z Saturday January 15 for OPC.
