| Detail: | Due to a potential post-maneuver conjunction, NOAA-20 has postponed its Drag Makeup Maneuver (DMU). This will cause NOAA-20 to leave its nominal ground track box on December 29th 2021, crossing the eastern edge. This box is +/- 20 kilometers equatorial longitudinal offset from the reference ground track. The maximum distance reached outside the eastern edge of the box is expected to be about 10 kilometers. The re-planned Drag Makeup Maneuver (DMU) will be performed on January 13th, 2022 at 1628 UTC to correct the drift. The expected date to return to the nominal ground track box is February 1st, 2022. This may vary with the performance of the maneuver. Another notice will be sent when the return to the nominal ground track box is known. The exact times will be announced closer to the events. |

| Detail: | Meteosat-9 is planned to take over Meteosat-8 as the prime satellite for the IODC service from 1 June 2022. Its drift towards the 45.5°E target longitude will start on 1 February 2022, with the first drift manoeuvre scheduled at 06:00 UTC, followed by a second manoeuvre 12 hours later, at 18:00 UTC. The drift rate will be of ~0.5 deg/day until Meteosat-9 reaches the target longitude (current planned drift stop date is 20 April 2022). From 1 February 2022, Meteosat-9 will no longer be used as backup satellite for the Full Earth Scan Service and will no longer provide RSS gap-filling during Meteosat-10 RSS interruptions. |
