Details/Specifics of Change:

This installation is planned to occur during back orbits. NDE will not be ingesting, processing or distributing data during installation. No data loss is expected, but there will be a possible backlog of processing when installation is complete.

Multiplatform Tropical Cyclone Surface Winds Analysis (MTCSWA) in NDE

The MTCSWA will be upgraded with:

      1. Add scatterometer data from MetOp-B

      2. Add NPP/ATMS nonlinear balance winds

      3. Update inner core GOES winds using GOES-16/17 and Himawari-8 inputs

      4. Modify surface wind reduction rules to be consistent w/NHC’s rules

      5. Produce output in NetCDF

      6. Full resolution G16/17 and H8 data
