Date/Time Issued: January 9, 2023 1900 UTC

Product(s) or Data Impacted:  All NDE products

Date/Time of Initial Impact: February 8, 2023 TBD UTC

Date/Time of Expected End: February 8, 2023 TBD UTC

Length of Outage: 3 hours

Details/Specifics of Change:

The February 8, 2023 installation of NDE release 2.0.35 is planned to occur while JPSS satellites are in back orbits. NDE will not be ingesting, processing or distributing data during installation. No data loss is expected, but there will be a possible backlog of processing when installation is complete.

List of Scientific Changes:

This new version of the V8Pro has three major changes from the current v4r1. The first one is that the codes, scripts and initial tables are ready to process data from JPSS-2 OMPS. In particular, the matchup software for the OMPS Nadir Mapper with the OMPS Nadir Profiler can accept and aggregate the new higher resolution OMPS Nadir Mapper FOVs. The second one is in improvements to the forward model where the interpolations in wavelength are used to generate estimates of the broadening of the bandpasses. The third one is the use of new soft calibration adjustment tables. The largest changes with these tables are for the NOAA-20 tables where they now adjust the results to give better agreement with S-NPP retrievals as the final step in the NOAA-20 V8Pro EDR advance to validated maturity.
