ESPC plans to terminate the NOAA-19 and Metop-B ATOVS sounding products on February
6, 2023.
The Sounding Products include
· Temperature and Moisture Profiles
· Water Vapor Mixing Ratio at various pressure levels
· Total precipitable water from ATOVS
· Total Ozone
· Cloud Parameters
· Layer Mean Virtual Temperature
· Layer Thickness
· Geopotential heights
· Retrieved Parameters
· Layer precipitable water for 3 layers
The decision of terminating all the ATOVS Sounding Products Processing Systems (currently running for NOAA-19 and Metop-B) by February 6, 2023 is based on the resources need to be devoted to support new missions.
We are currently produced sounding products for NOAA-20 from the NOAA Unique CrIS/ ATMS Product System (NUCAPS). Examples of these products can be found at the following URLs.
