Topic: LGSS Forcepoint Firewall OS Upgrade at NSOF and CBU Scheduled for March 21, 2024

Details/Specifics of Change: On March 21, 2024 between 14:30z and18:30z. LGSS (Peraton) will be performing an OS upgrade on the OPS Forcepoint appliances and management console at NSOF and CBU (IDMZs). The work will be performed for both NSOF and CBU between 14:30z (10:30am) – 18:30z (14:30pm) EST on 3/21/24, with a backup date of 3/22/24 within the same time frame. Although the entire 4 hours will not be needed, a wider window has been allocated to allow enough time for resolution of any issue(s) that may arise. The IDMZ connection should not impact OPS, however users may experience a short interruption when the Firmware is being rebooted.
Note: OSPO GSE’s will reach out to Mission Partners after the upgrade is completed to ensure there are no issues with access to products.
The following observatory systems will be affected on March 21, 2024:
There are no operational impacts expected, however please note the following bullets related to accessing the IDMZ during the upgrade:
- Loss of communication to and from the IDMZ environment during NGFW upgrade/reboot.
- Firewall Downtime will impact data flows (to and from the IDMZ) during NGFW upgrade and reboot.
- SMC upgrade will include a reboot of the Common Admin Tools server.
- Upgrading the SMCwill have no impact on the environment for users, however the common AdminTools server will be rebooted after the upgrade.
- Upgrade of the NGFW Engine will cause a network outage for the IDMZ as there are reboots before and after installation (estimated downtime: 15-30 minutes).
