Details: Starting around 2215Z on November 2, 2024, S-NPP’s geolocation capabilities entered into a degraded state. Operations will coordinate spacecraft recovery activities beginning Monday, November 4, 2024. Data assessment by Cal/Val teams will subsequently follow to ensure S-NPP products meet mission specifications.

NOAA does not recommend using S-NPP Products from observations taken after 2215Z on November 2, 2024 for operational purposes. PDA OPS subscriptions for all S-NPP science products were disabled at 0100Z on November 3, 2024. High Rate Data (HRD) was also disabled at 01:18z on November 3, 2024.

The NOAA-21 and NOAA-20 satellites continue to provide science data as the primary and secondary satellites, respectively, within the JPSS Constellation. Further updates will be posted, as needed.
