Details/Specifics of Change:

A yaw flip maneuver from the inverted to upright orientation will be performed on GOES-19 on September 22, 2025 from 1615-1740 UTC. During this period all instruments will experience a data outage, as detailed below. After the maneuver, all instruments and products will resume production and distribution.

All ABI channels will experience navigation and product quality degradation for a period of time up to 30 minutes after the outage due to the Kalman filter reset. Small navigation errors in GLM events may occur and diminish over the course of a week.

Approximate outage times per instrument:

ABI Outage: 70 minutes (16:30 UTC to 17:40 UTC)

GLM Outage: 70 minutes (16:30 UTC to 17:40 UTC)

SUVI Outage: 85 minutes (16:15 UTC to 17:40 UTC)

EXIS Outage (validity flag set to "off-point”): 85 minutes (16:15 UTC to 17:40 UTC)

SEISS Outage: 30 minutes (16:45 UTC to 17:15 UTC)

MAG Outage: 30 minutes (16:45 UTC to 17:15 UTC)

CCOR Outage: 30 minutes (16:45 UTC to 17:15 UTC)

Please note: The yaw flip will be postponed in the event of a critical weather day. It will slip one business day, remaining at the same time of day, until it does not conflict with a critical weather day.
