REMARKS:
An area of possible oil is seen originating from the Destroyed Taylor Platform. The slick is approximately 10 miles in length and extends to the southwest, consistent with northeasterly surface winds and ocean currents. At its widest, the slick is about 0.75 miles wide. Given the large extent of oil that was detected yesterday and the fact that there are fairly calm winds in the region, it is possible that additional oil has gotten caught up within the convergence zone and spread southwestward along the convergence boundary. But given the lower resolution of the image, confidence is not high enough to analyze any additional areas as oil.
