REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. It is believed to be an oil slick that emanated from the Destroyed Taylor Platform. The linear anomaly extended approximately 25.28 nm SW-NE and 0.24 nm in width. The dark anomaly had a large contrast to its homogeneous surroundings. The orientation of the anomaly aligned well with both wind and ocean current data near the time of the image. Ocean currents were moving NE at about 1.5 kts. Winds were coming from the W-SW between 5-10 kts.
