REPORT DATE: 09-04-2018 REPORT TIME: 1815 UTC REGION: ATLANTIC SUB REGION: MID ATLANTIC U.S. AREA/BLOCK: Mid Atlantic 6816 IMAGE DATE: 09-04-2018 IMAGE TIME: 1533 UTC DATA SOURCE: LANDSAT7 MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 30 meter LOCATION: 34°15'05" N/75°12'36" W AREA: 4.82 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: Medium-High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The linear anomaly was approximated 11.66 nm NE-SW and 0.18 nm in width. It was dark in color and distinguishable from natural phenomena within the vicinity. Winds near the time of the image aligned well with the orientation of the anomaly which were coming from the NE between 5-10 kts. There was no discernable point source or known spill which led to a Medium-High confidence. UNCERTAINTIES: As mentioned above, there was no known point source to associate this anomaly with.
