This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was located in the Alaminos Canyon lease block approximately 172 nmi east-southeast of Corpus Christi, TX. The slick measured 6.2 nmi in length and was 2.5 nmi wide at its widest point. Winds were from the east-southeast at 14 kts at the time of the image.The anomaly appeared to emanate from an oil facility and spread out to the south, and appeared dark in color, with well-defined edges. The anomaly ehibited evidence of feathering, which matched well with the wind direction, and stood out from its surroundings. Given these observations a Medium-High confidence level was established for this anomaly. UNCERTAINTIES: There was no NRC report that could be associated with the anomaly.
