This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was discovered 5 NM west of US international water boundaries but had the potential to drift into our waters. The anomaly measured 4.68 NM in length and 0.68 NM in width. Winds were 10-15 kts out of the South. Confidence that the anomaly seen was oil is Medium-High. The anomaly had high contrast with the surrounding area. The anomaly exhibited feathering that corresponded with the wind direction. The anomaly also had several sharp turns and well defined edges. UNCERTAINTIES: A point source for the anomaly could not be determined. It was most likely the result of a bilge dump.
