REPORT DATE: 12-10-2018 REPORT TIME: 2215 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: N/A IMAGE DATE: 12-10-2018 IMAGE TIME: 1717 UTC DATA SOURCE: WORLDVIEW3 MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 1.24 meter LOCATION: 29°24'05" N/89°46'59" W AREA: 5.48 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was associated with NRC report #1232430 and Hotline titles Lake Washington Wellhead Blow Out. *Please note the colors in the image were distorted due to image enhancements.* The anomaly was approximately 3.73 nm oriented NW-SE and approximately 0.5 nm in width. The anomaly had a large contrast to its surroundings and exhibited thin oil and relatively thicker oil (black colored portions). Winds were coming from the NW between 10-15 kts. near the time of the image which aligned well with the orientation of the anomaly. UNCERTAINTIES: There was a small amount of uncertainty in the full spatial extent of the oil anomaly.
