REPORT DATE: 12-11-2018 REPORT TIME: 2250 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: N/A IMAGE DATE: 12-11-2018 IMAGE TIME: 1711 UTC DATA SOURCE: WORLDVIEW2 MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 1.8 meter LOCATION: 29°24'05" N/89°46'59" W AREA: 4.30 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly is associated with NRC report #1232430 and the Lake Washington Wellhead Blowout Hotline. In this multispectral image the anomaly appears orange with relative dark areas of suspected thicker oil throughout. In comparison to yesterday the trajectory of flow has shifted from the SE towards SSW (winds near the time of this image were out of the NE) and at the time of the image the anomaly extended for approximately 6.1NM with an approximate width of 0.5NM. UNCERTAINTIES: Given that this is a confirmed crude oil wellhead blowout uncertainties are minimal, however the full extent of oil sheen may not be accurately represented due to image inaccuracies.
