REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly extended approximately 5.5 nmi to the southwest from the site of the destroyed Taylor platform, a known repeat oil leak source, and was up to approximately 0.22 nmi in width. It appeared dark against its background. Wind observations at nearby sites near the time of the image were from the NNE at 10-15 kts, which align well with the orientation of the anomaly.


UNCERTAINTIES:  Thin cloud cover was present, potentially preventing full analysis of the extent of the anomaly.
