This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly measured 3.82 NM in length and 0.50 NM in width. Winds were 5kts out of the SW at the time of the image. Confidence that the anomaly seen was oil is Medium. The anomaly had high contrast with surrounding waters and had some sharp jagged edges. A vegetation index was used and ruled out the possibility that the anomaly seen was live vegetation. UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly does not have a verifiable point source. The anomaly might be related to a reported shipping accident but that incident is still undergoing investigation.
