REPORT DATE: 04-25-2019 REPORT TIME: 0925 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: PULLEY RIDGE 949 IMAGE DATE: 04-24-2019 IMAGE TIME: 1558 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2B MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 25°01'22" N/82°45'22" W AREA: 0.15 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly is believed to be an oil slick that emanated from the Cudahy shipwreck. The linear anomaly was 1.3 nm long and stretched to the west from the shipwreck location in accordance with winds from the ESE at 8 kts. The slick stood out against the ocean background and was not near any natural phenomena. UNCERTAINTIES: Although the slick was not directly connected to the Cudahy shipwreck site, we had high confidence that the oil emanated from that site since it is the only known repeat leak source in the vicinity.
