REPORT DATE: 05-13-2019 REPORT TIME: 1605 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: CHARLOTTE HARBOR 627 IMAGE DATE: 05-12-2019 IMAGE TIME: 1609 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL2A MODE: Multispectral RESOLUTION: 10 meter LOCATION: 26°18'18" N/83°27'05" W AREA: 0.23 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: Medium REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The fragmented anomaly extended 2.0 NM in length by 0.1 NM in width and had a silvery sheen consistent with sun glint over dampened wave action on the ocean surface. Winds were out of the S at 10 KT which aligned somewhat with its signature. There is no apparent point source. Considering the above factors we have MEDIUM confidence in this assessment. UNCERTAINTIES: There is no apparent point source or feathering associated with the anomaly.
