REPORT DATE: 06-02-2019 REPORT TIME: 1925 UTC REGION: ATLANTIC SUB REGION: MID ATLANTIC U.S. AREA/BLOCK: North Atlantic 7004 IMAGE DATE: 06-02-2019 IMAGE TIME: 1048 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL1B MODE: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV RESOLUTION: 20 meter LOCATION: 40°06'02" N/69°55'03" W AREA: 1.14 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: High REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The linear anomaly was believed to be an oil slick that emanated from Wreck 1487. It was approximately 4.8 nm long and had moderate contrast to its homogeneous surroundings. The slick meandered south and west from the wreck site as winds were light from the eas tat the time of the image. Given its contrast and connection to a repeat leak source, we had high confidence that the anomaly was an oil slick. UNCERTAINTIES: None.
